Our first day back
It's been lovely to be back in touch with you all today as we start our Summer term. I have been very impressed with all the work you have done today, we have most definitely 'hit the ground running'. I'm sure you'll agree that the pictures below of Jocelyn's 'Gruffalo Crumble', Evan's vegetables and Easter cake and Iliana's pizza look delicious. Well done, girls.

Week beginning 27th April
Welcome back to the Summer term. I hope you are all well and have managed to enjoy the beautiful weather we have had during the holidays. I'm very much looking forward to the term ahead and supporting the children through our distance learning. Please find below details of our activities for our first week back:
English:
- Revising all phonic sounds with our focus this week on the sound 'air'. I have set activities on Sumdog to support this. Children should also watch the daily RWI phonics lessons online if possible
- Ensuring the correct use of capital letters and full stops
- Learning the features of fantasy stories and writing a fantasy story
Maths:
- Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s forwards and backwards
- Identifying the missing number in a sequence counting in 2s, 5s and 10s
- Making equal groups of objects
- Identifying equal and unequal groups
- Solving word problems
- Mathletics
IPC:
- Revising our knowledge of food groups and cooking a dish thinking about which food groups the ingredients belong to
- Sharing the story of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and carrying out an investigation into what plants need to grow. Can we grow a beanstalk for Jack?
- Observe our planted beans, can we see any signs of growth?
Story Time with Miss Hall
Starting on Monday 27th April I will be sharing a daily story time with the children. We are going to be reading the story 'The Hen Who Wouldn't Give Up'. Each day I will email the children a video of myself reading a chapter so we can enjoy a class story just like we do at school. As it is a video, the children will be able to watch it at a time which is most convenient. You might watch it as a break during the day or maybe save it for a bedtime story. Watch out for the first chapter coming on Monday, I am joined by a very special guest. All will be revealed on Monday!
Friday 3 April 2020
We've made it to the end of term! It's not quite been the end of term we had hoped or planned but it's still been hugely successful. The children have all achieved so much this term and have also adapted to our new ways of learning. Thank you to all the parents who are supporting the children so well at home, I really do feel privileged to be able to work with you all.
I hope you all enjoy the Easter break.

Advance notice for resources WB 27th April
When we return to our learning after the Easter holidays, we are going to be busy cooking and also planting seeds in IPC. In our first IPC session the children are going to be asked to cook something. This can be anything at all and we are going to share pictures of what they have cooked with their friends.
Later in the week we are going to be carrying out a scientific investigation and will need the following resources: 4 empty jars or yogurt pots, kitchen roll, runner bean seeds.
Hopefully we will all be able to get our hands on these resources but of course please do just let me know if it is a problem, I can always change plans!
