Worry Monsters

We read the story 'Ruby's Worry' and learnt about the importance of sharing our worries with a trusted adult.  W enjoyed making 'worry monsters' so if we have a worry we can write it down and feed it to our monster.

Woodland Adventures

Continents of the world

We are enjoying learning all about the world.  We have learnt their are 7 continents and have created our own world map for our classroom.  We even drew some animals to add to our map to show their native continents.

Week beginning 8th June

What will we be learning this week?

English:

• Continuing to practise phonics each day.  Our spelling focus this week is 'ear' as in 'Earth'
• Continuing to practise reading and spelling Common Exception Words
• Learning about comparative and superlative adjectives adding 'er' and 'est'
• Studying information texts
• Big Write: writing an information text about an animal
• Reading comprehension

Maths:

• Place value, identifying the number of 10s and 1s in 2-digit numbers
• Making 2-digit numbers
• Identifying 1 more and less and 10 more and less than 2-digit numbers
• Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s forwards and backwards

IPC:

• Learning about the 7 continents of the world
• Learning about Europe and understanding this is the continent we live in
• Learning about the United Kingdom and that we live in England
